Toss the Confetti – Baystate Children’s Hospital

As I venture along my new path of being a volunteer Birthday Fairy for The Confetti Foundation, I find myself becoming more and more smitten with the organization with every new step. As if the entire concept isn’t sweet enough, the details that The Confetti Foundation has thought of, and incorporated makes my heart just melt.

I opened my first shipment of Birthday Boxes to get them ready to deliver to Baystate Children’s Hospital in Springfield Massachusetts. There were 5 neatly packed boxes inside the large box they shipped. Inside those 5 boxes are trinkets of birthday magic that The Confetti Foundation assembles. Brightly colored paper shred lines the bottom of the Birthday Box. On top of that fun shred lies party utensils, napkins, straws, cups and plates, coloring pages and crayons, stickers, paper pom poms, a birthday banner, and sweet handmade card from another child to the recipient of the Birthday Box.

The contents of the box coincide with a themed sticker on the outside of the box. Themes of the 5 boxes I delivered were Despicable Me, farm animals, alligators, princesses, and gymnastics. This will help the hospital determine which Birthday Box will suit the birthday child spending their birthday in their hospital.

The Confetti Foundation’s goal is to help children who stay long term in hospitals, often on their birthdays, to just forget why they are there for just a few minutes. These boxes are a much needed distraction for both the child and parents alike, I’m sure.

I couldn’t be more excited to be part of this charming, thoughtful, genuine cause. Please contact me if you’d like to find out how you can help.

I will be hosting a fundraising event in the fall, as well, so stay tuned.
